Course Material for Individuals
If you don't have the time to attend a course and prefer to get the information
that you need on DB2 in bullet presentation format, we have just the material
that you need. There are 30 sections including over 1,700 pages of material for
you to choose from. The sections developed by Gabrielle & Associates
provide a practical indepth guide to application design, development, and
tuning with emphasis on ensuring good performance in a production environment.
The courses have been developed, refined, and revised for each release of DB2
and updated based on the input of over 16,000 students since the material was
first taught in 1984. Indeed, there is a good possibility that a number of your
DB2 associates have attended one or more of the courses and seen the course
material as presented at the IDUG pre-conference seminars since their inception
in 1994, as IDUG presentations during the IDUG conferences since 1991, and as
presentations given at local user groups.
The courses are the oldest and newest of their kind in the industry. They are the oldest in that they were developed starting in 1984 and the newest in that they are constantly updated and rewritten for each release, version, and current PTFs. The DB2 for z/OS and OS/390 Development for Performance book has been written based on the course material and will prove useful if you prefer comprehensive textual information on DB2. An earlier book DB2 Design and Development Guide published by Addison-Wesley is probably on the bookshelf of a number of your associates in one or more of its three editions.
